Strength- The rail mounting system provides unparalleled strength and rigidity, especially when encountering ballistic events and blunt force impact. <br /><br />2. Interference- There are more than a few types of NOD, NVG's, etc out there. Having the shield "flip up" would likely interfere with one of these pieces of gear.<br /><br />3. False sense of security- a visor flipped up over your head provides zero protection.
